My 45th Birthday

I had a great 2 days. Starting with a surprise brunch on Monday with Mom, Pa and Ma Lopez, and Milton Lopezs. It was very thoughtful and nice. On my actual birthday, it was a busy but nice day. I got some lovely gifts and well wishes. Couldn't ask for any better on my 45th celebration.

Valentine's day 2013

I got some lovely thoughtful items. My DH made me a card on his computer, 1st son brought me a rose at work and 2nd son said HV day.

My Little Birdie Embroidery Quilt is done!

Here is a look at the finished Little Birdie Embroidery Quilt. I started shortly after Christmas. Finished it today with a label. One and a half months but I had holiday free time in there.

My first fabric swap!

I have joined my first fabric swap. You purchase 1 metre of fabric and cut it into 5" squares ( a charm pack). You send it to the person who is organizing the group with a self addressed stamped envelope. You then get a charm pack back of mixed fabric with a theme. The theme of this group is fabric with writing on it. Here is the metre that I bought and will be cutting up. I am looking forward to getting my package by the end of March. Fortunately it is a Canadian group. At least I understand the postal system even if it is expensive.

February Storm and a Snow Day!

Well snow has come today! No school. We have dug out once and expect to do so again later on. It is still coming down. The last time we had snow like this was 5 yrs ago when we moved in.

Second little project with Abby

Abby has some nice decorative stitches!

My first project with Abby

I decided to try some of the fancy stitches Abby has. I made a sunglass case. I hope to make 2 more. I think it turned out well.

My first very own sewing machine!

Welcome to my new Ambition 1.0 Pfaff sewing machine. Since I named my LA quilt machine Glory Be, I have given this new addition the name Abby. It comes from the Hebrew language. It means two things "Father rejoiced" and " gives joy". Perfect! Here is Abby at home in my sewing room. She looks good and ready to give joy as my Father in heaven rejoices for the lives the finished products will touch.
Thank you so much to my Mom for giving me one of the best 45th birthday presents a daughter and crafter would want.
