This Week's Finishes and Goals

{29/06/14}

I totally did not post any finishes on Friday...if you have been following my recent posts you know I have been crazy busy.
I had to change classrooms at school and we decided to sell our house.  I just finished putting all of the boxes away in my classroom on Saturday so that's done.  I still want to paint my bulletin boards yet and I still have to file the report cards in their OSRs.
On the house side, the deal on the townhouse we wanted to buy fell through.  We had a conditional offer and someone came in with a firm offer.  So we are now deciding if we still sell even though we have nothing we want to move into?? We will have to continue to pray on that one.

Well just like I thought I only worked on EPP hexie flowers when travelling in a car or putting my feet up.  I am working on appliqueing the flowers onto a block.

I started cutting out and pasting hexies on the next set of flowers.

Here is a review of my June hexie progress on Hexagon Alley for my monthly goal of 8 hours.

I also purchased another Fiskar's hexagon paper punch in the extra large size. I was thinking of using some of my scraps for this.

These are my goals this week...

1. Work on a customer quilt.

2. Finish labeling and binding these baby quilts and maybe drop them off this week.

Was in my bookshelf....on my phone

I did not post last week...it's been a little hectic around here but that doesn't mean I haven't been listening to an audio book.  So this is what I have listened to so far since my last post.

I completed The Whole Enchilada by Diane Mott Davidson.  It was a good book to listen to with enough drama and humour to keep it interesting.  There is a lot of cooking/food descriptions.  I don't enjoy cooking but it was still OK to listen to.

Then I listened to Sweet Salt Air by Barbara Delinsky.  It was a long book but very very good.  I loved the storyline.

Currently on my phone is Home Front by Kristen Hannah.  At first I had a hard time getting into the story but then it grew on me.  I enjoy Kristen Hannah's books anyway.  This one is about a soldier family but with a twist...the wife is the soldier. I am about 3/4 of the way through listening to this one.

So what are you reading/listening to?

This week's goals...

June 22

I am not sure I will get anything done this week but maybe some EPP...  We decided to sell our house and go into something smaller like a townhouse.  So we are in the midst of re-organizing and de-cluttering so it can go on the market in less than 2 weeks.

That also means doing the same in my quilting room.

I would like to do some sewing like piecing my blocks from the Scrappy Challenge especially since the challenge won't be continuing...

OR work on my Hawaiian Lap Quilt??

Definately more EPP Hexie Flowers...  but I think most of this is a wish list.

Hexie Flower progress

June 22

I completed 2 flowers this week.

So I made 4 flowers this month so far and I have one week left to go to see if I completed the 8 hour a month goal at Hexagon Alley.

Yes a Friday Finish or two.

It has been a busy month...week...days... June is crazy for me. I did have a finish this week because I have a deadline. We made a class quilt and I wanted it done this week for next week when one of the students gets to take it home.  Each student did a block using Crayola fabric markers. I did the one that says LOPEZLAND. I custom quilted it using one of my new Wonderfil threads in light blue. So here it is...

I also completed 2 EPP Hexie flowers this week.

Weekend and Weekly Goals

I went to Quilt Canada and the Niagara Falls Heritage Guild Show this weekend.
We weren't allowed to take any pictures of the Quilt Canada Juried show quilts. So I took some of the guild show quilts. A couple are my Moms.

Quilting the Psalms by my Mom, Dietlind Winter.   1812 Civil War Quilt also made by my mom and long arm quilted by me.

A couple hexie quilts but I forgot to check who made them.

Zentangle by Sheila.                                                              Remember by Johanna Hutchinson. All bits of t-shirts.

The Lady in Winter by June Rose.                                       Star Crystal by Johanna Hutchinson.

Hawaiian Dreams by Pat Dunbar.                                                   Sunflowers by Tia Philips.

This is what I purchased at the market:

I got these lovelies at the Sew Sisters booth.                These Kona Solids are from Mad About Patchwork.

These pantographs are from The Stencil Company.  These Master Quilter threads are from Wonderfil.

This is a spare bobbin case for my HQ Sixteen from Handi Quilter.

I completed the second of 2 twin size customer quilts.

GOALS FOR THIS WEEK:

1. Complete class quilt on the long arm (maybe use some of my new thread) and bind it.

2. Work on making hexie flowers when I can.

3. Maybe start another charity quilt on the long arm and try my new thread!
